Bookcase of Boxes

50 Plywood boxes for books, that can be placed on the slotted steel wall of 3m x 3m.

Designed for a studio which accommodates several graphic designers, who wanted to join but not mix their collections of books.

The ‘feet’ of the boxes and the slots in the wall allow for easy (re-)positioning.

When connected in horizontal position, a box can keep a lot of smaller books. In vertical position a box can keep less but bigger books.

The grooves around the boxes are for handling, but also for displaying books or folders on top of them.

Areas of the slotted wall that are not covered with boxes can be used as a magnetic message board (for notes or posters).
